UPDATE Genital pain – and hip pain – one man’s experience with upper cervical chiropractic

UPDATE Genital pain – and hip pain – one man’s experience with upper cervical chiropractic

These are the responses from S., a 50 plus year old male, who experienced pain in the pudendal nerve for many decades.

Pudendal Neuralgia and Nerve Pain - Location of Pudendal NerveS. had problems getting a pudendal neuralgia diagnosis from most of his providers. His pain also occurred with a right hip/buttock pain. Most of his providers focused on his hip as being the real problem, sometimes calling it sciatica. They  believed his genital pain was coming from something else – like a bladder infection.

However after many decades, S. had a conversation with me, where we connected his injuries to his athletics/dancing.

We also connected his upright posture, which showed a large persistent backward rotation of his right hip to his persistent buttock and hip pain.

Whether his genital pain was connected to the rotation of the hip we would know once the hip position was corrected, which was done by releasing the neck.

UPDATE: Viewing the expanded version of the before and after image below will reveal to you the change in hip posture. When you compare the two green lines in the image on the left, with the green lines (now almost superimposed) in the image on the right, the change in hip rotation and position is clear. It is a change matched in shoulder, hand, and head position.

The after image is immediately after the first correction of the neck, and neither the hip nor any other area of the spine was touched other than the neck for this structural shift.

How did you first discover you had pudendal nerve pain?

I had this pain from the time I was in mid-20s, and it progressed over the years. I never had a name for it, and I could never figure out what it was…I read about pudendal nerve pain and it clicked for me. I thought this is what it could be.

I brought it up to other professionals and they didn’t take my seriously. You were the first person to take me seriously.

What were you doing for the pain?

It got to the point where I was on Lyrica, which had such terrible side effects. I was told I would need to be on Lyrica for the rest of my life.

You were the first one to tell me that wasn’t necessarily so. It took me three months to get off Lyrica. And then pain went from being ten to a three, and now I’m at a one.

Can you describe what your pain was like with pudendal neuralgia.

I had pain in the right hip, buttocks, and it went down and around underneath, into the right side of my penis. I don’t have all the biological names for the places.

I would have urinary pain, and I would think that I would have urinary infection, but there was never one there. Sometimes during sex there would be pain as well.

The male genital pain is very rare now. Only the hip bothers me on occasion now. You had a treatment plan that was very specific, and it was extremely effective.

I hadn’t experienced anything like that in a chiropractor’s office.
